My name is Mark Schaeffer, O.D. I graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee and now I'm a resident optometrist at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
I started this blog to serve as a two-way communication between doctors (mostly optometrists, or eye doctors) and our patients (Hey! That's you!). I hope you will join in the conversation so that we can all move our brand of medicine forward beyond the technology age. Today, we can see microscopic changes throughout the body with incredible imaging systems. However, our biggest resource and information hub is still you, the patient.
Let's work together to make our medical models more efficient to see more patients without losing the personal touch!
Sounds like a lofty goal, but modest strides are still strides.
